Sephora Favorites : Beauty Closet -Review-

closet 4

I have been a little disappointed with the Sephora Favorites sets lately; I even returned last summer sets because the value was just not there for me… I used to buy every sets mainly for their amazing value and often, I found it to be the best way to try the new stuff out there. Anyway, last year I just bought maybe 3 of them! Bummer, I know 😦

closet2

Good news! This one is different!! Like you see on the picture, you pay for 5 must-have products and the other 16 products are “free” goodies. Well, that’s how I justified this buy 😉

This set contains:

Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm

I just finished one just like this and it lasted me at least 3 months. This Algenist eye renewal balm is very luxurious and it works really well with my usual morning routine, blending with my eye makeup and making sure that my concealer is not creasing!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Mini Clear Brow Gel

It is such a good Brow Gel, I use this every single day.

Full-size Ardency Inn MODSTER Smooth Ride Supercharged eyeliner in Gold

A totally new discovery for me and OMG, this eyeliner is good, pretty, long-lasting and the colour is unique … Do I really need to say more 🙂

bareMinerals Mini READY Touch Up Veil Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in Translucent

Really practical to put in your handbag for your touchups … Good overall finishing powder!

Beautyblender micro.mini sponge

I would have never pay to buy such a tiny Beautyblender but surprising enough, I use it a lot to apply my concealer. Not by any mean a must, but quite nice to have!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal

I have yet to be disappointed with a Becca product and this one is no different. It’s a beautiful subtle highlight … Remember that a little goes a long way!

Bite Beauty BB for Lips in Flush

I wish this one was bigger because I’m in love with the burned sheer orange kind of shade and the formula. Bite Beauty just simply Rocks!

Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black eau de parfum rollerball

A really unique fragrance, you either love it or hate it I guess.. I put it over a Vanilla perfume that I own and it smells dangerously yummy ! (Ok! I know that may sound strange, but it works for me)

Full-size Formula X Nail Color in Fahrenheit

I really love Formula X nail polish even if you get red everywhere when you want to take it off – rubber glove can be your BFF in that case- Long wearing and superb red.

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer

Surely one of the best primer out there, if not the very best … I already said it in a previous post but you need just a little bit of this primer!

Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil

I don’t use that oil for my face but mainly on my extra damaged hands and nails during winter time and It really does a wonderful job when used at night; but if your skin is drier than mine, you could totally use it as a moisturizer.

Julep Freedom Polymer Top Coat

A good top coat, not my favourite but I still like it!

Lancôme Paris Lip Lover in 355 Framboise Etoile

Another love fest for this lip product, but like the Bite lipstick, it’s on the small size!!! Those two are deluxe samples.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 in Nude

This moisturizer gives me such a beautiful dewy finish, and with the SPF 20, it will be perfect for my “no-makeup-but-want-to-look-presentable” summer look 😉

Living Proof Prime Style Extender

I gave this one to the boyfriend because you know me and my crazy curly hair!?! The reviews on this product are amazing, so you might love it.

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster

Ole Henriksen and Dr Brandt have singulerly changed my skin! I won’t ever be without those two. I use my Truth Serum in the morning mainly in the summer months and guys, it smell so good and It feels great; that format is good for 3 months for sure!

Sephora Collection Colorful Mono eye shadow in #32 Pop Idol

Mea culpa on this product. At first, I thought it was a boring grey eyeshadow and you know the Sephora brand is not a brand I usually reach for … BUT Grey what?? Pop Idol is a black plum colour that is absolutely GORGEOUS, perfect for a night out, or an extra glam day look. This shadow is so highly pigmented. Wow! all the way…

Note : Stays on all day, and I didn’t have glitter all over my face by the end of the day. I found it applied way better with my finger than with a brush. You need to love shimmer though 😉

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 35 in Light/Medium

Tiny, 2 or 3 applications at most… It’s a nice BB to try, you might really love this one… I have the full size so I will use it ’til the end BUT will not repurchase since I fell madly in love with my DrJart BB !!!
Tip : It’s best if used with a wet Beauty Blender.

Stila Convertible Color in Peony

I love the Stila convertible formula so much that I really, really, REALLY have to buy the new Stila Convertible Color Palette! Who knew I would become a cream blush addict! Damn Stila I think you curse me 😀

Tarte Amazonian Clay waterproof bronzer in Park Ave Princess

If you don’t already own Tarte Park Ave Princess and you are one of those girls who tend to prefer golden tone bronzers, this product is as good as it gets and it’s screaming your name! It’s perfect for your everyday look.

Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara

This one is a cult favourite for a very good reason, it’s AMAZING!

Tip: I found the best way to apply it, see it in one of my previous post.

Bottom Line :

Expensive, Yessss (99$US)!! But the value is absolutely there, that is, if you don’t already own these products… Not that it really matters but the packaging is so darn cute too ! You know what: I will use every last drop of all these items except the nail polish maybe, that by itself says a lot about the quality of this set …Totally worth it !!!

*** So funny, the boyfriend just told me how much he loves the Living Proof style extender 🙂

Thanks for stopping by

  1. It’s lucky you have access to Sephora. Here in Sydney, Sephora only just opened up in December 2014. So, it’s relatively new-ish. But mind you, prices here of any high end makeup brand is so expensive!! Also, it would be too expensive to ship to Australia from USA 😦 – love the post btw! I too, would use all up the products 🙂

    1. I can relate so much!!! Yes, we have Sephora but nothing else and almost no company are offering shipping to Canada… That’s why I think “Beauty Closet” is cheap for what you get, even if it’s smaller version. In the end of march there is always a 15% rebate at Sephora and 20% off in november… Always look at the sale section 😉
