I heard so many great reviews about this foundation, that I was beyond excitement to try the new Maybelline “Fit me Matte& Poreless” foundation! I paid 9.99$CND at my local drugstore (thanks to the 100% satisfaction guarantee, they will refund me the 9.99$ … ooops! did I just say that!?!)
What Maybelline says about their new foundation:
Fit Me! Matte + Poreless from Maybelline New York goes beyond skin tone matching to fit the unique texture issues of normal to oily skin for the ultimate natural skin fit. While some foundations can exaggerate pores and oily skin, only our pore-minimizing foundation contains our genius blurring micro-powders that erase pores and absorb oil for a naturally matte and poreless-looking finish. Dermatologist and allergy tested. Does not clog pores. Oil-free.
♥ Very lightweight (Gives a nice MEDIUM coverage) and doesn’t feel “cakey” whatsoever.
♥ I had no issues with the product, causing no breakouts (That’s a big +)
♥ I do have very large pores and this stuff is very good at keeping my skin almost PORELESS (Awesome blurring effect!)
♥ It made my face feel so soft (Seriously, skin baby butt smooth!!!)
♥ Affordable since it’s drugstore – Be on the lookout for sales because drugstore makeup is getting way more pricey, have you notice?!
The Not so Good:
♥ It clings on to every single dry spot on my face (It’s awful; I look like I have a bad sunburn … so weird!)
♥ Keeps me matte for only 4-5 hours max.
♥ At first, it’s matte scary and it made my face have an overall dull aspect (without the ton of bronzer I had to add, I looked like an extra from “The Walking Dead”👽)
♥ I wish it came with a pump (I kept wasting products, messy to use!)
♥ It’s not major but it does tend to dry fast, so I do recommend spreading and blending as quickly as possible.
I’m very sad to say that even if this foundation has clearly some great qualities, it’s not for me. I think that girls with very oily skin could LOVE this foundation. Having combination skin, I thought it would be a match made in heaven but Oh! no I cannot bare the fact that it highlights ANY and ALL dry spots I have on my face no matter how much I exfoliate and moisturize !!! I guess you need to try it to see if it’s a good fit for you (Was not a good Fit for Me ! Get it!!! Note to myself: “don’t quit your day job to become a comedian”). I really do feel that it’s either a hit or a total miss! Did you try it ?
Note: I’m fair and I always use the lighter shade in every brand out there, so I bought 110 Porcelaine and it was ghost white on me, so think about getting a shade darker if you try it.
I hope it was helpful
