12 X 12 … 12 things to accomplish in the next 12 months. I saw Kaily’s (Kaily Baute) 28 by 28 post and I was inspired to do the same. I’m the kind of girl who needs some challenges and structure to achieve even the smallest thing. So I make it my mission to achieve these 12 realistic (nothing crazy here) lifestyle changes in the next calendar year… I will be updating every 3 months; failure is not an option (over dramatic I know)! By writing these down, I’m signing a contract with myself and it makes me sort of accountable !!!
So let’s face my demons, challenges or just some plain fun stuff.
1. Cook more
When I first met Beard Man, we were cooking a lot, discovering new recipes and now 4 years later we barely use the stove (BeardMan note: it is full of cookware because we have too many 😜). Planification & preparation is key because of our busy schedule. Taking cooking classes would be awesome, I love asian and indian cuisine the most.
2. Learn to apply falsies
It’s no surprise that I suck at putting false eyelashes. Each time I try, it ends up in a total mess (one time I even glued my eyelids together). I will never be this girl who apply falsies on a daily basis, but heck I want to be able to rock these bad boys if I want to.
3. Loose 25 pounds
Diet sucks, even so when you have been yo-yo dieting all your adult life. I have a wardrobe full of clothes that doesn’t fit me at all and I’m stubborn enough not to buy again bigger clothes (I should I’ve kept my previous larger garments but that’s another ball game)
4. Learn how to relax
I’m always in a hurry, for no reason really but I’m still running like a mad woman. I need to be more zen (This is my biggest challenge right there).
5. Be less predictable
Get out of my comfort zone, it could be as simple as a bold lipstick or a purple smokey eye, have less of a routine, going out more, try new things, new hair colour, etc.
6. Make my first Youtube video
I’m so chicken when it comes to even contemplate the idea of making a YouTube video, the subject will be between beauty (of course) or an asian recipe !
7. Learn to edit
I don’t have a choice if I want to achieve # 6 or it will be my first and last video 😛
8. Read more books
I think a book per month is realistic, and it will be good for my english since I’ll pick them in the universal language.
9. Take a webdesign course
Totally a copy from Kaily’s post but it’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. I’ve come a long way with my web capacities but I’m still very far from where I want to be in the future.
10. Climb a mountain
A big one that is, ok you won’t see me on the Kilimanjaro anytime soon but Mount KATAHDIN would be nice. (Oops! this summit happens to be in the USA so it would be very nice to pair that with some shopping) Only if I conquer #3
11. Do an adrenaline pumping activity
I bungee jumped a couple of years ago and I had a blast, maybe skydiving is in my future, a Spartan race or a trek (have you heard about the GR20 trail?)
12. Create my own company
I always wanted to be my own boss, but I also always been financially insecure because I was raised by the best dad in the world but in a very modest upbringing. What shape and form would it be, it’s not define at the moment but I’m considering taking a year off from work in the near future for the realization of this big dream of mine.
Have a great day my beauties
Ingrid on a mission xoxo
