smashbox #SHAPEMATTERS palette – Review –

shapematters

You don’t know how long I have waited for a palette like this one!!! Finally, something I can bring at Beard Man’s (aka my boyfriend who lives in another city) without having to pack a ton of stuff like I usually do… I’m pretty sure Smashbox has just started a trend that a lot of brands will copy in the future. Smashbox products have been somewhat hits or misses for me in the past, but this is one is a total WINNER.

 The Good:

♥ The set by itself contains all the powders I need for my brow, my face and my eyes … The only thing missing is a blush but since it’s labelled as contour for brow, face & eye, that’s insignificant .

All the shades are light skin friendly. *Hourray* (I see this palette suiting more light to medium skin tones, I’m not sure how it would suit beauties with much darker complexions).

♥ Each powder performs so beautifully & the formula is oh! so very smooth. If you tap your brush, there is absolutely no fallout.

♥ The brush included is not just there to look pretty, it really does a decent job.

♥ Very beginner-friendly, almost mistake proof. (You can have the best makeup product, but if you need a PhD in the Art of Makeup to apply them, then this is useless). This palette is very forgiving.

♥ I love the sturdy packaging and I really enjoy the huge mirror.

♥ Pigmentation is just wright for the natural looks I’m looking for.

The Not so Good:

♥ Since it’s a powdery formula you need to be careful when using all the products. If you don’t want to end up with a very MESSY palette, you need to be precise.

♥ You need to use a smaller brush, mainly for the bronzer since it’s size is smaller than the ones we usually use (Not a biggy!!!).

♥ Unfortunately, not recommended for the lucky girls who have darker skin tones.

Bottom Line:

Practical? You bet. If you just started to play with makeup, you are lucky that this palette exists. These powders totally exceeded my expectations. What can I say, I’m totally blown away by how much I love each product included in this really well-thought beauty. I’m telling you, not ONE bad product or shade that I would RARELY use (you know those crazy gorgeous shades we love but are pointless on a day-to-day basis?); that is so rare!!! I can see myself using it every single day, even bring it with me at work (In my personal case, this palette will stay at Beard Man’s). I’m smitten! Smashbox, this one rocks.
