Top 3 MATTE Eyeshadow palettes ⎟Great for Hooded Eyes

Matte Eyeshadow palette great for Hooded Eyes

Eyeshadow palettes!!! What a beautiful invention. I love having those super sultry shimmery eyeshadows and heck! I’m all about glitters 365 days per year …. Awwwwww! I wish!!!! But with my damned hooded eyes, I can’t let myself go crazy! How ironic that a girl who loves shadows so much has to miss out on a lot of looks because of the genetic shape of her eyes? 😪 Well, thankfully for you, my hooded eyes girlfriends, the matte look is super trendy right now, so let’s rock our matte eyeshadows. Here are my top 3 matte eyeshadow palettes that are perfect for beginners and  flawless for the pros out there (+2 affordable options).

1

Becca Ombre Rouge

Becca Ombre Rouge

Such a beautiful day to day palette that makes redishhhh/pinkisssh shades, so ideal for fall and why not, all year long. The five colors included go so well together & the formula is ridiculously exquisite. Becca also makes an Ombre Nudes that is more on the Nude side (*I’m so funny*) that is also to consider. Why is this palette not more hyped is beyond me. (You can read my full review HERE)

Tarte Tartelette

Tarte Tartelette

If you haven’t already heard the merit of this palette, heu! maybe you were hiding under a rock somewhere, or unfortunately fell into a profound coma for awhile :). Seriously, this “Tartelette” deserves all the praise and more. It’s such a well formulated and well color coordinated ensemble. This beauty will never be obsolete! Years from now, this one will still be as trendy. Daytime to nighttime, no problem, this little number has it all. (You can read my full review HERE)

Kat Von D Shade + Light

Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye contour palette

A hooded eyes dream palette. This palette contains every neutral matte shades that you possibly need. Blendability A+, Pigmentation A+, Versatility A+, Affordability A+ (considering everything you get). Not more to say than it’s a sure winner. (My full review HERE)

On a budget? Here are some other good matte palette, well worth your buck !

Stila In The Know

This was my first totally matte eyeshadow palette and to this day still one of my favourite. In Canada, I see it often at less than 20$ at Winners.

Stila In The Know

Sonia Kashuk Eye Couture Neutral 02

At Target for less than 20$, this palette stands out and is tantamount to a lot of higher brands. If you never tried Sonia Kashuk eyeshadows, you are missing out… They are great.

Note: It’s my personal opinion, but drugstores’ eyeshadows, with the exception of NYX singles & Sonia Kashuk, are not sure bets, especially the mattes. If you want real quality, it’s well worth spending a little more $$$.

Thanks a lot for stopping by my beauties

  1. I’ve been wanting to get the Tartelette palette for awhile! I was hoping to get the latest holiday one, but sadly the matte shades were really chalky and sheer 😦

  2. KVD Shade + Light palette is going on my Christmas wish list!!! 😀 I can’t even wait the 1 week until January to buy it!
And yes, that Sonia Kashuk matte palette looks amazing. I wish I was able to get it before Target left Canada – they were always sold out! But I heard that Target US is now shipping to Canada! Hallelujah! 😀

    1. You should consider Becca (Ombre Rouge or the Nude one) … Surprisingly I use it way more than the KVD !!! Great palette (Shade + Light) don’t get me wrong, but definitely the one I use the least 😏

      1. Au contraire !!! The shades from Ombre Rouge are quite dark (in a pinkishh/redishh/nudishh way) and super pigmented. Trust me they would show 😀

    1. I do wear “shimmer” shades everyday but just a tiny bit 😉 You should have a look at the MUFE 15 shadows Holiday palette ; all “shimmery” colors that don’t transfer on our hooded lids 😀 xxx
