Holiday Party Looks Must-Haves “Xmast” Blog | December 10

Having a party? Wanting to be the center of attention? It’s time to dust off all those glitters eyeshadows; let Becca’s Opal (or if you are trendier – Champagne Pop) have its glory moment. When it comes to holiday parties, there is just one rule: Go Glam or Go Home!!! That being said all that glamour look needs a few specific products if you don’t want to look like Cinderella way before midnight (or Krusty the Clown).

Here are my must products/steps for a night where everyone (at least the ones who recognize you) will remember you from and still mention your name while talking about this year’s Holidays (out of jealousy or envy of course)…

Prepping the Skin

The Night Before

Applying a face mask the night before is always a great idea

Moisturizing for your nighttime routine is a must too (Who says Winter means super dry skin)! Time to use your favourite face oil.

Before the big Pow Wow

In the morning routine, always use a gentle exfoliating cleanser, it preps your skin so beautifully (I said a gentle scrub, GENTLE!!!) Scrub your lips too and moisturize!!!

Apply a good moisturizer without SPF. Let it sink. I used to layer product on product but now, I let everything sink in … The difference is remarkable!

Prime your face, your eyes and your brows (Yes! I said brows)! Wait 5 minutes at least (trust me it makes a big difference)

Now, the fun stuff (party style)

Go full coverage with your foundation & concealer by using the ones that doesn’t make you look cake face … and then BAKE (using the baking method HERE) your concealer and face. Setting your total face is not optional, it’s a must 😊

♥ Time to look like those Instagram girls by contouring a little bit more than usual, using a neutral matte bronzer and a matte blush. Why all matte?!? Because the eyes should sparkle like a disco ball and there is still something like too much shimmers (even on Christmas night or the office party).

Time to highlight those cheek bones with your favourite product.

Have fun with colors you would never wear on a daily basis but that you are dying to try. Think the Too Faced Holiday Sets that you never used. If you are using pigments or glitters, please use a glitter glue (Shimmery cheeks were never in style!!!).

Note: The more sophisticated and bold the look, the more you have to blend!!!! Adding is way better than having to start over.

Don’t forget your eyebrows. They frame the face and forgetting them can ruin the whole look.

Put some false eyelashes. If you are as bad as I am to apply them, by all means (and totally something I should do), give it a few trial runs before the big event. No one wants to end up with one false eyelash at the end of the evening and someone having the other one under its shoe 😜

I prefer to always line my entire lips with a good lip liner (that ensures that I always have color on my lips even after a few drinks or a lot of smooching) and then, I apply my favourite lipstick.

Finishing Touch

It’s super important to use a good setting spray if you want your makeup to last as long as possible.

Added Touch

Why not false nails for that evening? If you are anything like me, you have a few sets laying around somewhere waiting to be used.

Thanks for stoping by my beauties & have a fabulous party !

  1. I suck! I totally forgot we were doing a collab post today! But I had so much fun reading everyone’s (Stash is killing me with her Holiday Barbie roast). I love how yours is all about makeup and then Sharon broke up her fashion advise based off of what you might be doing for the Holiday. It’s crazy how one topic can be taken in so many different ways. I guess I’ll be posting my lonely version tomorrow lol. P.S. love the candy-cane nails 🙂

    1. You don’t suck !!! You are so busy with everything. To tell you the truth, I don’t know how you do it all :/ Stash is so funny; I really need a no-buy clause to hopefully become less predictable with my posts 😛

  2. Hehe I totally interpreted the theme today as Holiday FASHION looks! Ooh well! I tried false lashes a couple of times (makeup artist applied them for me) and I didn’t like the feel of them on! I felt like rubbing my eyes all day!
Those nails are so fun! I like the candy cane tips! 🎅🏼
