Am I the only one who start to sing Ricky Martin’s “Shake Your BonBon, Shake your BonBon” when you think about the new Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons eyeshadow palette? This just released bubble pink cuteness Chocolat Bon Bons is, of course, the third palette from the Chocolate collection: the first one being the original Chocolate Bar, followed by the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar. Too Faced had a brilliant idea with this collection when they decided to infuse their shadows with cacao, resulting in a sweet chocolate aroma every time you open the packaging (their bronzers have the same yummy smell)!!
I was not in a hurry to get my hands on it, but Sephora, with their 25$ Christmas rebate coupon made it impossible for me to resist. I am including this review in my “Xmas” Blog event because I think this item will be one of the most popular product for the holidays & it was definitely a great “from me to me » present. I also thought you would like to read about it before purchasing your own…

♥ Too Faced is a cruelty-free brand (Thank you Too Faced)👏🏼
♥ It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I adore the girlie packaging. The bubble gum pink & the heart-shaped shadows are totally adorable. A+++
♥I really think that the range of shades is a great mix of colours that blend beautifully together. Yes there is a pink flair, but all the other colors are complimenting the theme and adding a very sophisticated eye look.
♥ This palette is perfect for pale skin girl like me. Some might think that the pigmentation is not that strong but for me, it’s perfect for an everyday look.
♥I love all my Chocolate Bar palettes!! The first two have a strong fall/winter vibe to them, but the Bon Bons is wearable all year long.
♥ Love the chocolate smell but out of the 3, the perfume from this one is very delicate but still exudes yumminess. I hoped for a stronger scent truthfully, but it’s barely there – did I get a dud in the smelling department?!?
♥ No dud shadows to report in this beauty. We all know that 99,9% of the time any given palette has one or two useless colours.
♥Because of the lighter colours, the Bon Bons palette is totally appropriate for daytime or nighttime looks.
♥ A lot of shades can be found in previous Too Faced palettes: With the same name or under a different name.
For example, Totally Fetch can be found in last year’s Everything Nice (Holiday 2014).
♥ There is powder kick but then again, it reminds us to always tap our brush (always very important if, like me, you always do your face first).
For my taste, the packaging is GORGEOUS!! It simply makes me want to grab it and it’s just a happy, adorable case. Formula wise, I like it a lot: if you are familiar with the brand, you already know that Too Faced shadows are really good. On the other hand, if you have a lot of Too Faced palettes from previous collections, you may be disappointed by the fact that you probably have similar shades with possibly the exception of Earl Grey. There is nothing original about this palette but if you are new to makeup and don’t already own a gazillion shadows, chances are you will absolutely love the range of colours and the consistency of this Bon Bons palette. That’s a rare thing to say, but this palette will suit a teenager as much as a mature woman.
Here is the million dollar question: Which Chocolate Bar do I prefer? To me, they are all the same quality; the shadows are pigmented, buttery & blend very well. Honestly, it’s more a question of personal preferences regarding the shades. Since I’m very fair and I tend to go for neutral/pinkish tone, my #1 is The Bon Bons!! With its versatility, its practical sense and its cute girly casing, all shades are very wearable and great for me. As #2, I would go for The Semi-Sweet and lastly (but still very enjoyable), the original Chocolate Bar.
Are you feeling the Bon Bons calling my beauties?
