Best of 2015|Brows, Eyes & Lips

Ingrid'd Best Of 2015: Brows, Eyes & Lips

Finally for the “pièce de résistance”, let’s talk about eyeshadow palettes; the one thing that I never have enough. I bought so many in 2015 that it was hard to mention only one so I named the usual suspects. My love for palettes is legendary (with How I met your mother’s Neil Patrick Harris intonation please) but my breakthrough for 2015 was totally my brows. Before, I rarely filled them and the few times I did, I thought I looked like Krusty the Clown. Back in January 2015, one of my goals was to learn how to fill my brows correctly (mostly to enhance the scarce ones I’ve butchered badly in my teenage years, and thru thick and thin, stayed in my face). I’m pleased to say that I’ve accomplish this goal/resolution beautifully. You have no idea how much I love doing my brows in the morning now…

So here are my 2015 Best Brows, Eyes & Lips products. I already posted Face (HERE) & Skincare and Makeup Brushes (HERE)

Brows

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Duo Powder & Dip Brow Pomade

Best of 2015 : Anastasia Beverly Hills

Depending on my humour or to try a new technic I’ve seen on YouTube, I’ve been using powders, pomades or a mix of the two. Either way I’ve used Anastasia Beverly Hills products exclusively. I may have tried other brands but ABH remains the best. These products may not be on the cheaper side but I’ve been using them for a year and the pots aren’t even half empty! How did I live before without filling my brows; I swear, it takes me 5 minutes max.

Eyes

I love eyeshadow palette and I never seem to have enough of them. My addiction made me buy at least 15 different ones this year alone (yikes!). If I compare to the year before, 2015 was way better in term of product selection, namely on matte eyeshadow (hooded & aging eyes BFF!!!).

Best Matte Palettes

Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette

Best of 2015 :Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette

Quite frankly, I think every makeup lover should own this palette. Teenagers to grand mothers friendly, this sublime eye contour palette has every neutral matte shades possible, on the warm, neutral and cool spectrum. I use at least one color each and every day! A must!! No wonder I’ve seen this beauty on so many best of 2015 lists. My review HERE.

Tarte Tartelette

Best of 2015: Tarte Tartelette

The Tartelette was THE palette for my spring & summer of 2015. Still an all matte palette but with a different range of brownish/purplish shades, I found it more convenient for those warmer temperatures than the very neutral KVD. Again a crown jewel in my collection that I will cherish ’til I hit pan on all the colors (Yes! that will probably happen in 2016). My review HERE.

Becca Ombre Rouge Palette

Best of 2015 : Becca Ombre Rouge

I know some of you must be sick and tired of hearing me talk about this Becca Ombre Rouge palette but I have to praise it one more time. It’s my duty to spread the word about this magnificent treasure (and free of charge I might add). I’m really glad that in the recent months, Becca gets more hype about the performances and the color selections of their eyeshadows!!! Well overdue if you ask me. Totally my 5 dream shades right there. These are label satin but performed like matte on my eyelids. My review HERE.

Best Formula

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow

Best of 2015 : MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Shadows

Favorite formula of 2015! I’ve manage to buy 4 MUFE palettes this year alone. If this doesn’t scream LOVE, I don’t know what does !!! Creamy, dreamy, come to me …

All in One Palette

Smashbox #ShapeMatters

Best of 2015: Smashbox Shape Matters

I totally made up this category because I couldn’t write a best of 2015 without mentioning this fabulous overlooked complete palette. I adore every powders in this gem. I even love the price for all that you get. I saw some harsh reviews but for me, this palette is a steal, a great value for money. My friends, have a closer look at this one next time you are at your local beauty store! My review HERE.

Mascara

Too Faced Better Than Sex

Best of 2015 : Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

An oldie but surely a goldie. I use this Too Faced “Better Than Sex” mascara solely because it makes my lashes look way fuller & definitely longer than they actually are (it’s not hard to achieve since I barely have any to start with!!!). I always top this mascara with my trusted Maybelline waterproof Great Lashes mascara. You can read my trick HERE.

Eye Pencil

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil

Best of 2015 : Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil

Ever since I tried my first Urban Decay eye pencil, I’ve been hooked… They glide so easily without any tugging and last all day without transferring. My most-used color of 2015 was Twice Baked, a soft brown shade with tiny gold micro glitter! I own 12 UD eye pencils, do I have to profess my love or that’s says it all 😀

Lips

Since I’ve been on a No-Buy on lip products for almost the entire past year, it was hard for me to pinpoint my favorite new product so I opted for the 2 I’ve repurchased. I never, EVER repurchase lip products so, to break my No-Buy for these two, I must really have a crush …

Lipstick

MAC Creme Cup

Best of 2015 : MAC Creme Cup

I believe it’s my 4th or 5th tube of Creme Cup. For me, it’s the perfect pink/nude shade that I can wear all year long. I love the formula & the smell! It may not be a trendy color anymore but heck, for my lips it’s totally timeless.

Gloss

Buxom Celeste

Best of 2015: Buxom Celeste

I could have choose a ton of glosses since I love a lot of them, but there is one that was worthy of again, break my No-Buy and repurchase and it’s Buxom Celeste. What can I say other then it’s the most flattering sexy peachy sparkly gloss ever. Matte formulas are everywhere right now but call me old fashion because I still feel I look best with shiny lips.

Note: It’s totally Lisa Duncan’s fault (LisaLisaD1) if I have an obsession with Celeste ☺️

Buxom Celeste

Will these remains my 2016 favorites ?

  1. Great faves!! Creme cup has to be my all time favorite mac lipstick! I’m already on my second tube! I haven’t worn it religiously as I used to but I think that’s gonna chance lol I forget how lovely and flattering it looks on the lips:)

  2. Yes yes yes this is my favourite of the favourites! 😀
I didn’t used to fill in my brows either until my esthetician friend held me down and did them for me – it took me some time to get used to the look but now I can’t imagine NOT filling them in! And yes, it takes no time at all now.
I’ve decided to wait until Sephora VIB sale in April to buy the Kat Von D palette – I don’t have an immediate need for it but I do want to add it to my collection this year! 🙂
I’m going to the Becca counter this week, I think – I can’t wait any longer, I need to play / roll around in their products!
Oh my gosh, LisaLisaD1! I haven’t watched her in ages. That woman shops sooooo much! I can’t keep up!
    Great picks Ingrid!

    1. Funny story ! I’ve watched only 1 or 2 Lisa Duncan’s videos, on these 2 she was talking about Celeste !!! ( Not even subscribe :))
Did you see the new MAC contour (pre-made) palette ??? Do you own any of these powders ???

      1. No, I haven’t seen the contour palette… but I’m not too interested in a whole palette for contouring. I really don’t need it because (and this isn’t me being boastful) I have high cheekbones already and don’t need contouring. This is what every makeup artist says to me whenever I ask them to show me contouring. Usually they contour my big forehead instead! 😆 I do own MAC Sculpting powder in Sculpt from the Maleficent collection… I’ve used it twice. 😛 It’s a nice colour – not too dark and a bit grey-ish which is preferable.
