Welcome to Week 3 of my Project Focus 10. I think, reading all your comments, that you’ve enjoyed both previous PF10 blogs, but if you don’t know what the hell I’m talking about, you can read my original post (link) here. Be sure to have a look at Joy, Jodi & Stashy’s posts, my collaborators in this adventure.
Recap of the Project so far…
Even though I’m in love with my Dr. Jart Premium BB cream, the color I own is too dark for my ghostly skin right now, thanks to our winter for sticking around a little while longer (Bummer … but thank god for scarfs)! So far, out of the 10 products featured in my project, there is just one regret buying and one on the bubble. Which ones do you think???
Make Up For Ever Lift Concealer
MAKE UP FOR EVER Lift Concealer Review
As I’ve been using this product for the last 8 months, I think that I’m now able to write an honest review 😉!! After such a long period of courtship, I have developed a love/hate relationship with this one… Let’s get into the specifics!
More than just a concealer! It contains tensine, an active ingredient with skin-firming properties for the eye area, and vitamins A and E, which regenerate the skin. This multipurpose product also conceals specific, darker areas (brown spots, blotches, etc.) and can be used as a highlighter on the more prominent parts of the face (cheekbones, forehead, and chin) for added radiance.
At Sephora for 26$US (30$CND) for 0.05oz
♥ Blends nicely with my skin & most important, it doesn’t crease (No cakeyness).
♥ Looks very smooth and natural (Perfect for my summer “No makeup makeup look”).
♥ Suitable for mature skin (It’s a serum type formula).
♥ Really love the squeezing tube presentation (It last a very long time since a little goes a long way … 8 months of daily use and there is a ton of product left)!
♥ This formula really highlights my whole face and it still looks as if I don’t wear too much makeup!
♥ Perfect for dry skin (and @$%#! cold winters 😡) as it’s hydrating.
♥ Only 5 shades available (The lightest color is not light enough for my fair winter skin👻)
♥ Doesn’t cover my dark circles well enough. You can layer the product for added coverage but I don’t like layering…
♥ No noticeable skin-firming properties for the eye area as claimed.
I have mix feelings about this concealer. In summer, I would have said that this product could attain Holy Grail status as I love the very natural, serum type formula. I also adore that it doesn’t crease on me for a solid 8 hours. But then, winter came and my snow white complexion was no match for their 5 colors selection and lack of sleep made me have dark circles big time and truly, it doesn’t do a great job covering them! Would I recommend it? Yes but be sure to read the pros and cons if it suits your personal needs. Next summer, I’m sure I will fall in love again but now I’m on the market for a new concealer to suit my bleached skin. If winter lingers on and my sleep deprivation continues, I’ll look like Jack Skellington (minus the filiform figure) 🙊🙊 …
