Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer Review

Week 4

Project Focus Winter 2016

Already Week 4 of my Project Focus 10. I think, by reading all your comments, that you’ve enjoyed all my previous PF10 blogs, but still, if your mind is filled with question marks, you can read my original post (link) here. Be sure to have a look at Joy, Jodi & Stashy’s posts, my collaborators in this adventure.

Recap of the Project so far…

This past week has been the hardest… I’ve mentioned previously that during my PF10, I would only use products from this project, but let’s say I cheated a little… Since I got new products for Valentine’s Day (and you know I have the patience of a two year old), I played with the new goodies! At least, I stayed on track with the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer…

♥ Too Faced ♥

Chocolate Soleil Bronzer

For years now, my HG has been Tarte’s “Park Ave Princess” bronzer. Not sure why I haven’t given more love to Too Faced bronzer as I own a LOT!!! I have 3 Chocolate Soleil bronzers (1 Milk Chocolate and 2 Regular Chocolate), simply because they are always included in some Sephora Favorites sets or Holiday palettes. As I was decluttering during the Christmas break, I chose to focus on this product, just to make sure that I hit pan on a couple this year and possibly make way for future acquisitions 😜…

What it is:
A delectable matte bronzer.

What it does:
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder makes getting glam-and-tan downright delicious. Too Faced combines the natural, therapeutic effects of real cocoa powder with their signature bronzing pigments, creating a unique matte bronzer that neutralizes red and evens out and enhances all skintones. The complexion is left with a flawless finish, a gorgeous radiance, and a subtly sweet scent.

At Sephora for 30$US (38$CND) for 0.35oz

Note: Sephora usually have them as gift with purchases or point perks so, no need to rush to buy this bronzer 😉

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer

♥ The chocolate scent is delightful. It instantly makes me happy in the morning when I open the lid.

♥ It has a warm undertone but not too warm where I would look orange faced (not muddy)!

♥ Very natural and gives a matte look. Without any shimmer, it’s perfect for mature skin or with a lot of textures.

♥ Obviously, Milk Chocolate is great for light skin but there is also Chocolate and Deep Chocolate to satisfied every skin tone.

TF Choclate Soleil 3

♥ It blends beautifully, it is super pigmented (you don’t need a lot of product) and lasts all day!

♥ In addition to being a perfect bronzer, it can be used as a soft contour & also as a beautiful transition shade on the eyelids. Killing three birds w/ one stone!! For a frugal girl like me, that’s having a lot of bang for your buck…

♥ Its versatility is also temperature-wise… it looks as good in the cold of winter’s nights as during those canicular dog days of summer.

♥ So far, it’s without any flaw! It’s a universal good bronzer.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer

♥ I was laughing really hard when I was putting the swatches on BM’s arm. He kept telling me that they were all identical which is partially true, but with some minor differences in tone. At this point, it’s a question of favorite brand, packaging etc… With all these swatches, it’s fair to say that I have contour/bronzer products for a lifetime and, I spared you my Nars, Kevyn Aucoin & Guerlain because the price is way higher!!! Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer is a great product! For the life of me, I have no explanation on why I always go with Tarte’s Park Ave Princess 😶. Price is reasonable and considering it’s so pigmented, a regular compact will last a very long time. To sum it up: it’s versatile, smells heavenly and doesn’t look fake!!! Bonus: Too Faced is a cruelty-free brand.

What’s you favorite matte bronzer ???

Thanks for stopping by my beauties

  1. You know how challenging it has been for me to focus on my items! SO MANY NEW PRETTIES! 😛
Haha you swatched on BeardMan’s arm?! My SO won’t even let me get close to him with a makeup brush when I say “feel this, it’s so soft!” He runs off. 😆
You make me tempted to get this bronzer but that would be silly because I don’t bronze my face regularly! It’s just not something I remember to do. I do reach mostly for the cheapo NYX Sunny compact. I want to try the Bourjois bronzing primer which is supposed to be a dupe of the Soleil Tan de Chanel. I can’t believe you do this daily! Hmm maybe the lure of a chocolate scented product…

    1. You contour but you don’t apply bronzer after ???!!! 🙄 Where is your JLO glow !!!😎
BM is such a good boyfriend, he is like my little human puppet (I hope he never reads this 😜)
You let me know if the Bourgeois bronzer is remotely comparable to the one from Chanel !!!

      1. I don’t contour regularly either! Last time I contour was a few weeks ago when we had a fancy dinner for SO’s work but that’s it! 😛 I really should do it more often!
I was hoping to redeem my points for the Bourjois bronzing primer but it was sold out!
