Wednesday Beauty Obsession ✮ Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

Wednesday Beauty Obsession

Time for another Wednesday obsession….. Wait!! This is the first episode of my new mid-week quick post dedicated to my current beauty obsession.

Obsess is the right word to describe how I feel about this cream! In fact, the name alone makes me dance in my living room, reminiscing the summer of ’89, when we were all shaking our “Bum Bum” with Ricky Martin’s « Shake Your Bon Bon »single.

Now that I hopefully got you in a beauty mood, let’s talk about this marvelous Sol de Janeiro “Bum Bum” body cream. Last week, looking at my pile of samples, I realized that I had 7 waiting to be test. Normally, I like to keep body cream samples for vacations or small trips to BeardMan country house, as there packaging is super convenient, spill-free and portable in my carry-on bag. Maybe it was because of the Rio Olympics coming and I felt a Brazilian urge to capture the spirit, but last Wednesday, I must have been in the mood to try new stuff. I opened one after my bedtime shower and let me tell you that, at my first whiff, I knew I was hooked.

Scent Obsessed…

The smell is totally intoxicating!! Just think coconutty, beachy, vanilla sweetness that stays on your skin for hours! Imagine waking up the next day and still smell delicious? I know!!! I was totally shocked that after my initial application at around 7PM the night before, I could still smell that invigorating and delectable aroma at 6AM the following morning!

Glowy Obsessed…

This concoction straight from the Gods gives a slight micro-shimmer which is a plus! It really makes my skin glow without looking like a disco ball (doesn’t look like some cheap glitter body creams, if you know what I mean!).

This formula is labeled as fast absorbing; I agree that it does dry completely between 15 to 30 minutes but I have seen some fastest ones on the market (maybe it’s the price to pay to smell like a Goddess in the morning). The brand, Sol de Janeiro, also alludes to this cream “tightening and smoothing properties” on your skin! Well, I like to think that my skin appears tighten but it’s no miracle and I don’t expect it to be. Let’s say I don’t expect my Bum Bum to be perkier and cellulite-free with any creams that is (I wish!!!)…

The LOVE factor was so real that, for the next 7 days, I used up all my samples; yesterday was my last day and I’m like a drug addict who already wants more … This is an expensive cream at $57CAN for 8.1oz but it smells that good!! This is now Numero Uno on my wish list. Perhaps with this cream, there is hope for my dream to have a sultry Brazilian body!?! Oops, sorry I made you spit out your coffee… 😂

I miss you Sol de Janeiro

  1. Everytime I see this Brazilian Bum Bum cream reminds me of Tati and makes me laugh/giggle for some reason. Maybe it’s the BUM BUM word? Haha but I heard this smells amazing..
