Bio-Oil ✰ Project Pan 12 Fall 2016

Project Pan 12 Fall 2016

Welcome to Week 4 (already 1 month, unbelievable how time flies) of our Project Pan 12 Fall 2016 Edition. As usual, the knowledgeable Stashy (StashMatters), the cruelty-free Queen Jodi (ABrashAttitude) and the lovely Chanelle (Chanelle Hayley) are also collaborating in this project!

This week’s feature product is Bio-Oil PurCellin Oil! Used it continuously for the last 4 weeks for body and face, but with very different outcomes …

Bio Oil Review

Availability:

Nearly every drugstores and big retail chains

Pros:

♥ Easy to find,

♥  Very moisturizing,

♥ Very mild and delicate scent.

Bio Oil Review

Cons:

♥ Broke me out the two times I’ve applied it on my face,

♥ The “supposed breakthrough ingredient”, known as PurCellin oil, is derived from ducks (it’s the substance ducks secrete to keep their feathers waterproof – gross)!!

♥ Take at least half an hour to dry.

♥♥ Update: The last two days, I’ve had some allergic reactions with this product. I’ve seen some small bumps on my skin, and I’ve had some itchiness all over my body !

Note: Unfortunately, since it broke me out in my first week, I can’t validate the company advertised claim that this oil is good for uneven skin tone and is anti-aging.

Will I repurchase? NEVER (A Huge NO). Allergic reactions added with pimples and acne on my skin = a new oil, great for anti-aging and to moisturize my garbage bags…

Project Recap…

I was certain that at the end of September, I would have finish a couple of products, but I was wrong… I’m really surprised at how long it takes to actually finish products. Oh! well at the end of October, I should have emptied at least half of my eleven products (wishful thinking!), since one has been emptied in my garbage can😜…

🍁Don’t forget to go have a look at week 4 of Stashy (StashMatters), Jodi (ABrashAttitude) and Chanelle (Chanelle Hayley)

  1. This is the only facial oil that worked on my sensitive skin. I use this all year round. Too bad it didnt work on you. It’s definitely a must-have for me.

  2. I’ve always been intrigued by Bio Oil but never took the plunge. Glad I didn’t as I have similar skin to yours – super sensitive. I’ve heard it works great for scars and such but I’ll probably stick with good old Vitamin E. Thanks for the review!

  3. Oh no, having a bad reaction to a product is never fun.
I tried BioOil on my belly when I was pregnant and I did not like that it never fully absorbed – it felt like my clothes absorbed more than my belly did. I didn’t find it all that moisturizing either. Heavy body butters worked way better for me. This was a huge NO in my books as well.

  4. Too bad you reacted so negatively to this product! I’ve been curious about Bio-Oil for the rashes / scarring on my legs (too soon to start using yet until they’re all clear). I was reading reviews on it and people are saying it works for them but I’m wondering if any old vitamin E would work?
It’s SO difficult to finish up a makeup product – there’s no NO way I’ll ever hit pan on mine during Project Pan, no way!

    1. That’s why I took mostly skincare items for this project, it’s definitely too hard to pan makeup!😅
Have you tried coconut oil on your legs, the healing properties is INCREDIBLE!
I don’t think I will be the spokesperson for BioOil anytime soon!😂

  5. I have always been intrigued about Bio Oil and I’m sorry to hear you had a bad experience with it. I haven’t heard about someone who has before but it’s something to keep in mind, especially having sensitive skin myself x

  6. Oh no it sucks it didn’t work for you. I’ve had a Bio Oil in my draw for ages. I mainly use it on parts of my vody that need it or under my eyes if they’re very dry. It’s so oily I defunitely can’t use it all over my face. Yuk I didn’t know about the secret ingredient😮 x
