Ole Henrikson Rub N’ Buff Salt Scrub│Review

Project Pan 12 Fall 2016

Welcome to week 6 (half way mark) of our Project pan 12. My collaborators in this Project are Stashy (StashMatters), Jodi (ABrashAttitude) and Chanelle (Chanelle Hayley). This week, I’m writing about the now empty Ole Henriksen Rub N’ Buff Salt Scrub which has the most fabulous smell ever but, the formula has a few flaws!

The claims:

This sea salt scrub is formulated with aroma-therapeutic and energizing botanical extracts and essential oils to leave skin ultra soft, smooth, and hydrated while the senses are intoxicated with Ole’s signature decadent aroma.

Availability:

At Sephora: $48Cnd for 22oz.

Pros:

♥ It smells DIVINE. If Lemongrass combined with Lavender oil appeals to your nose buds, than you will LOVE this sea salt scrub,

♥ This scrub is gentle enough for sensible skin,

♥ This brand is cruelty-free 🐰.

Cons:

♥ Pricey,

♥ Since it has a sea salt base, it dissolves under water way quicker. I’ve tried to use it dry and it just wouldn’t work (too abrasive and difficult too apply).

In Summery:

I mostly used this product at night, when taking my shower before bedtime, and I am truly addicted to that smell. Unfortunately, the formula could be better for a high-end scrub. I felt it melted so fast that the supposed exfoliation properties were not optimal. I’m torn on this product since the “decadent aroma” is really addictive.. Aww! However, with my inventory of Cake’s mousses, body lotions and so many other skincare and bath/shower products, I think I can manage my body odours for a few months (read years…)!!

Will I repurchase:  I would run to buy this scrub for the yummy smell but the formula and the price tag are making me hesitate a tad … So NOT SURE (sadly).

Project Recap…

This was a great week for my Project Pan since I’ve almost finished bareMinerals Complexion Rescue SPF 30 which is next week product. I already have a backup so, you can already guess my conclusion! The only downside is that I’ve been struggling a lot with the same three products that I should I’ve tried before starting this project …

Note to myself: Next project pan, focus on emptying products I adore and need to finish, as it’s quite painful when some products are just not that good to exclusively use for 3 months.

Don’t forget to go have a look at week 5 of Stashy (StashMatters), Jodi (ABrashAttitude) and Chanelle (Chanelle Hayley)

  1. I’ve never used scrubs of any sort before. My skin can be pretty sensitive so I tend to stay away from them haha. I’m also not the biggest fan of lavender but they way you describe this one is so nice so I’d definitely be tempted to give it a sniff!

  2. Hmm Lemongrass + lavender sounds like a day at the SPA! Too bad it disintegrates so fast though for such a pricey item.
Question: do you take shower at night rather than the morning? Or do you shower twice? I’m just curious about people’s bathing habits LOL.
I’m thinking of picking up the BareMinerals Complexion Rescue during the Sephora VIB sale thanks to you. 😛 Can’t wait to read your review on it next week.
Hahaha your note to self is funny. I adore all the products that I’m using but trust me, if you’re confined to just using those products for 3 months, you’ll grow to resent them! (I talk a bit about this on the podcast too!) 😉
