2016 was without a doubt a skincare year. Of course, I manage to buy some new makeup products here and there but most of my budget has been geared towards improving my skin! I’m happy to report that I found some mind-blowing products.
Enough chit-chat; let’s do the countdown of my top 10 best skincare discoveries of 2016 (No particular order since I’m in love with all of them)…
Caudalie Premier Cru The Eye Cream
This product is the Best of the Best, La crème de la Crème! I finally found THE cream that has cured all the dryness that I have around my eye. This item has blown me away big time, so much so that I will gladly pay the $110 to buy a full size next time around (I already used the 3 deluxe samples I had in my stash)!!! A true game changer, my eye area is so smooth, it’s almost unbelievable and my eye makeup never looked better!
Boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil
I discovered Boscia MakeUp-BreakUp last Summer and it was love at first “wash”. This product is truly amazing… If you have never try a cleansing oil before, by all means, try this one and you’ll thank me later. It leaves no oil residue whatsoever and is 100% combination/oily skin friendly; even acne-prone will love it! It has almost replaced my Holy Grail Philosophy Purity as my first step night cleanser favorites!
Paula’s Choice Resist Brightening Essence
I received a bottle as a PR Sample and I already bought a backup. That says a lot on how much I adore this PC Resist Brightening Essence. You can read my in-dept review HERE!
Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil
I guess it’s fair to say that I had a theme this past year: OILS! All my life, I’ve stayed away (far, far away) from any oil since I had bad acne all my adult life. Surprisingly, I’ve discovered that Oils are my new BFFs and they totally regulated my dehydrated skin, along with some other products mentioned in my top 10. I’ve tried many good face oils in the last twelve months (Sunday Riley Luna Oil, Luna Oil PITTA and Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil) but my #1 is Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil. I love how versatile it is; I either mix it with my foundation or use it at night before my nighttime moisturizer!
Kate Sommerville HydraKate Face Serum
Pricey item (shamefully pricey I should say) but it delivers. I love the way this serum minimizes my pores and helps to even out my skin tone. Like some kind of miracle, it works immediately at hydrating my skin and creates a smooth and flawless complexion. I call it my red carpet secret weapon!
Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask
I own practically all of PTR’s masks and I love them all. The Cucumber Gel Mask is my favourite, mostly in Summer. I put it in the fridge and it’s the most soothing and moisturizing product I’ve tried so far. So gentle yet very effective at balancing the moisture of my skin!
Paula’s Choice Resist Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 25
I had an epiphany when I tried this moisturizer for the first time. Nothing other than AMAZING! I’ve been waiting for a sunscreen like this one for the longest time. Perfect for all of us makeup lovers who have procrastinate time and time again with all these AWFUL sunscreens. Read my review HERE
Nars Skin Multi-Action Hydrating Toner
By far, the best toner that beautifully primes my skin before I apply my tinted moisturizer. I bought this on a whim and I’m so glad I did. Super hydrating since it’s alcohol-free! I swear (it may be my imagination) but my pores look smaller after I apply this toner. It also doesn’t hurt that the packaging is BEAUTIFUL and stylish.
Bioderma Hydrabio Serum
In my book, this product is a total dupe for Drunk Elephant B Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel. This is the perfect moisturizer for my dehydrated skin. it takes care of my dry patches and doesn’t give an oily feel to my T-Zone. Finding a nighttime moisturizer is easy enough but finding a morning one that won’t interfere with your makeup isn’t that easy of a task.
Paula’s Choice Radiance Renewal Mask
Paula’s Choice was without a doubt my favorite skincare brand of 2016. This Radiance Renewal Mask was a revelation since it’s the first overnight mask I’ve ever tried. I use it once or twice a week around my eyes, nose and mouth to add extra moisture to these dryer areas! Our Canadian harsh winters are taking the life out of my skin like you have no idea and finding this product has really helped a lot to balance everything out! You can read my glory review HERE
Do I recommend all of these ten products? You bet, they are all 10/10 in the not-so-scientific Ingrid rating.
I want to know yours!
