Spring Cleaning Project | 2017

Project Pan Spring 2017 Edition (Curly Spring Blossom)

Since my 2017 number one goal is to use up at least half of my makeup and skincare stash, Project Pans are most welcome. The added bonus for this edition, is that I do this PP with my very good friend Jodi (A brash Attitude)! Enrolling in a Pan Project is kinda tough for me but, doing this with a friend, I’m then accountable and it makes the whole process so much fun.

This time around though, it will be different since this project pan will last four months; it seems long but it will give us time to pan (or least try to) 16 beauty products. And instead of a blog per week, we decided to keep you up-to-date once a month with a recap and a more in-depth focus on 4 products.

Here are the 16 products I chose for my Spring Cleaning…

Spring Cleaning Project | 2017

1. Shiseido Urban Environment Tinted UV Protector (#1)

As a wild guess, I’d say that the tube is 3/4 full. I’m not super crazy about this tinted sunscreen but maybe if I stuck with it for 4 months, I may change my mind! We’ll see!

2. Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water

Also 3/4 full. I’ve had this “water” for more than a year and I just forget to use it. You can read my initial full review HERE!

3. Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer (Terre-Neuve)

I bought this tinted moisturizer at last Spring VIB sale and I think I’ve maybe used it twice. Time for a good review. This product is full.

4. Mac Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly

I’ve had this Paint Pot for almost two years and it’s still very creamy. I adore these Paint Pots (read review HERE). I recently bought Camel Coat to eventually replace my beloved Painterly. Even though I’ve had it for a long time, it’s still half full so I’m anxious to see if I’ll be able to pan it in the next four months.

5. Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash

This is by far the best smelling cleanser on the market. I love the nice foam it makes and that it doesn’t strip my face of all the moisture. Perfect for my morning routine. This travel size is FULL.

6. YSL Voile de Blush (#2 Coral Veil)

I really hope that Spring 2017 is all about Coral cheeks 😉. This YSL cream blush is FULL and I would like to pan it at last. I love cream blushes but the truth is that I never use them. I had this one for a long time and the formula is impeccable. However, I feel it will start to smell funny (oops)!

7. MAKE UP FOR EVER Lift Concealer (#3)

I adore this serum concealer! Ideally I would have prefer a lighter color but it still works fine. This tube was in a previous Project Pan, but it’s probably still half full. I hope this time around I actually pan this bad boy.

8. Becca Backlight Priming Filter

I’ve never tried this primer before. These days, Becca is no longer one my favorite brand but I will give this one a good try and will make up my mind after this Project. It’s a generous deluxe sample but I’m sure I will pan it easily, unless it makes me break out…

9. Paula’s Choice Resist Brightening Essence

I graciously received this product (you can read my full review HERE) and I love it so much that I already bought a backup. It’s half full and since I use it everyday or every other day, I’m pretty confident to finish it in the next four months.

10. Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon parfume

I own three deluxe samples of this perfume, and if I combine the amount altogether, it equals the same amount as a regular rollerball. Nirvana Bourbon has such a dirty vanilla aroma, it’s totally addictive; it does smell like a cigar but I love it. Since I have Nirvana White, Rose and Black, it will be interesting to mix them up.

11. Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian

This a FULL travel size of this Buxom cult favorite! White Russian is without a doubt one of my Holy Grail lip product. It will be fun to test how long this lip cream will last. Guessing about 2 months!!!

12. Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Amethyst

I’m crazy in love with cream eyeshadows and this Amethyst color is perfect to pop my green eyes. I use it so much and I still have 3/4 left. It’s like a never ending stick.

13. Pink Gel Coat

Normally, I only put clear nail polishes on my fingers as regular ones don’t stay more than 2 hours (I guess I’m too rough with my hands). I have two of these and I want to put them to the test. Both travel sizes are FULL.

14. Jurlique Herbal Recovery Advanced Serum

I adore this serum (in fact, I love all Jurlique products). Being 3/4 Full, it will be easy to empty. Looking at the expiration date (February 2017), it’s like now or never.

15. Sephora Favorites Beauty Sleep

I’ve included this box set as one item since it was sold like this. Containing all deluxe size samples, 4 months should be plenty of time to test all these new products. I’m anxious to tell you all about the good, the bad and hopefully not the ugly, for all these nighttime products. This box is untouched so every thing is FULL.

16. Cake Beauty Lemon Chiffon Shower Froth and Supreme Body Mousse

You know what they say: “Go big or go home”. I’m cheating a little bit with these two huge body products but I might as well pan this duo together. I’m not really into body lotions, but I’m counting on this Project Pan to empty these huge bottles.

Now that you’ve read mine, go see what Jodi (A Brash Attitude) will attempt to pan on this Spring Cleaning, 2017 Beauty Edition.

  1. OMG I love your description of the Nirvana perfume! It really is a dirty vanilla and I love it too! I’m a bit jealous of all your samples though, haha. Good luck with your project overall though. You picked some challenging products. Maybe you can use the blush as a lip tint too to make even more progress!?

  2. Oooh, the Cake Beauty Lemon Chiffon sounds like it would smell so good, and the packaging is so cute!

Would love to know what you think about the Shiseido Urban Environment Tinted UV Protector. I’m always looking for something to protect my skin!

Those eye shadow sticks take FOREVER to use up. I feel like when I use one for months straight, I still can’t get through them significantly.

Best of luck with your project pan!

  3. Paint Pots are impossible to use up! I do like that they don’t get hard – I’ve been using my Groundwork almost daily and there’s still half full.
Ooh that Cake Beauty Lemon Chiffon smells SO good. I estimate that bottle will last you at LEAST 4 months!
I bought that same Sephora Favorites Beauty Sleep set. Maybe I’ll use them at the same time… aka “join you” in trying them out!
Looking forward to reading about yours and Jodi’s progress. It’s fun being an observer, this time around! 😉
