The Beauty Blogger Tag ✰ 2016

The Beauty Blogger TAG 2016 Ingrid

Summer months are ideal to finally do the TAGS I’ve been wanting to do for such a long time. With the Olympics on every channel and the Orange dude crying and shooting everywhere on TV, I think a simple TAG is the perfect way to just take a breath and stay on my planet MakeUp…

With no further ado, let’s answer The Beauty Blogger Tag …

1. Name a beauty routine you barely do.
I do them all but one, so this one is easy! The only routine I don’t do is apply false eyelashes; simple, I never learned to properly apply them. This was part of my beauty goals 2016, I guess I should start practicing.

2. Is washing your brushes something that you regularly do?
Before, I would have answered that I was neglecting this task but now, I wash my most used ones once a week religiously!

3. How long do you last with chipped nail varnish?
I don’t that’s why I always wear clear nail polish on my hands and bright colors on my feet (I don’t tolerate chipped nail varnishes on my feet either !).

4. How often do you put off buying/replacing a beauty item or nail polish, even if you need it?
I never put off buying products since I always have backups of my Holy Grail items! In fact, I always find some needs to buy some more… Have you seen my stash lately? This question probably makes you smile.

5. What is your worst beauty habit?
Is buying too much stuff and throwing half of it in the garbage a bad habit??? I think so … Overspending is my worst beauty habit.

6. Name something non-beauty related that you tend to put off all the time.
Hummm! I hardly never make my bed, I know it’s bad but oh!so true … No one can see it since I live mostly alone, with BeardMan always traveling for work, or taking care of our small house up north.

7. When going out somewhere do you leave getting ready until the last-minute or not?
I’m not a last-minute girl on anything in my life. I love putting on makeup so much that I love taking time to do it properly even if it means getting up earlier than I should be!

8. Can you commit to spending bans?
Bans? Hell no … In theory, I’m on a low-buy right now and it’s challenging to say the least but I’m happy to report that so far I’ve spent half the amount of the previous year.

9. How organized is your make up and nail polish collection?
I’m the Martha Stewart of makeup organization: meticulousness about my collection is an understatement! Every category of products have their own section … BeardMan has even join the bandwagon and build me a new space just to make sure that I could set up my clothes, makeup, shoes and all my girly stuff nicely.

10. What is the longest time you have gone without writing a blog post?
I don’t really know but if I’m guessing I would say a month and this was last February when I got sick and wasn’t feeling like writing.

Behind the Blog: Get to Know Me!

Being the Blog: Get to Know Me Better

I’m very nosy when it comes to personal information about my fellow bloggers! What can I say, I love getting to know the bloggers behind my favorite blogs. The more details they share, the better. On the other hand, I’ve always been private about myself on my blog. Since the beautiful Karen Rees (Confetti + Curves) never featured me on her blog (just kidding sweetie), I taught it was time to answer some random questions, peel of a few layers and reveal some details about myself.

1 . What blog post of yours are you the most proud of and why?

Without hesitation, the most fun I had is when last December, Sharon, Kaily, Stashy and I did our first “Xmas”series! Doing 24 posts related to Christmas (from December 1st until Christmas day) in 24 days, it was quite a handful. To come up with 24 different subjects in such a small period of time, it was a little exhausting and hard, but don’t get me wrong, I personally had a blast. Thinking about it, I love collabs; they are so amusing to make… Next collab should be Project Focus with my friends Jodi, Joy and Stashy. Feel free to join the fun, you know what they say: the more the merrier!

2.Why did you start blogging?

keep-calm-and-learn-english-with-us-14.png

I wanted to learn English, it’s that simple. I’m a French Canadian girl who lives in the province of Quebec and sadly, my English is/was considered beginner level at most. Learning a second language was one thing, but I knew I would like the learning process if I talked about a subject I LOVE: since I’m a beauty junkie, choosing makeup and beauty was a no-brainer!

It still takes me forever to write my posts and Beardman has to reread and correct my mistakes before I can publish anything. (You would be surprise at how much my boyfriend now knows about makeup – It’s starting to be a little scary) I could use a big fancy corrector but what would be the point !!!

3. What is your favorite part of blogging?

Yellow_Review_logo.png

What I love the most is to become a better writer and communicator (I hope!), expand my reach and my influence, comment on different subjects and express my opinion, and hopefully, maybe learn more about growing a brand online.

But to answer the question, I’m a reviewer at heart! I mostly like to talk about products I love, and sometimes, as you all know, I can be too passionate when I love stuff.

4. What company would you love to collaborate with?

Cruelty Free.jpg

Skincare wise, it would definitely be Sunday Riley, Herbivore, Arbonne, Drunk Elephant & Juice Beauty! They are all cruelty-free brands, are new to me, and from products I’ve already tried from their respective lines, I would be really ecstatic to try other items.

As for makeup brands, I would love to collaborate with Too Faced, Hourglass, Nyx, Nars, bareMinerals, Smashbox, Urban Decay, Buxom and Anastasia Beverly Hills! Again, They are all cruelty-free brands. As you can see, I want to collaborate with everyone except Revlon since I’ve yet to find a product I like from the brand!

Note: My makeup stash is not cruelty-free, but I’m really trying to change this situation.

5. How do you manage time to run your blog efficiently?

Blogging Tips Organisation
I really need to read over and over my own post 🙂

For the longest time, I was doing great at time management but lately, I’ve been struggling with my regular schedule. I’ve started other personal projects and they take much more time than I thought they would.

What used to work like a charm was writing my posts 2 weeks in advance and making all my pictures 1 day per week. These steps are key to running of my blog efficiently and for my sanity! Last minute stuff always ends up of lesser quality and I’m not as proud of rushed posts as my more refined articles!

6. Is blogging a full-time job ? or a part time passion ?

Blogging-Your-Passion.jpg

Who can make a living out of blogging only these days?!! I think that blogging alone in 2016 is not enough; someone has to be a social media maven and certainly, add a YouTube channel or a Podcast to secure a viable financial situation.

For me, it’s a part time passion! I truly love blogging. In fact, I just started a french blog that will focus on beauty but also on recipes, plant-based diets and my journey to reach some personal goals, just to name a few. This second platform is only for me, I don’t care if no one reads it!

Hopefully you learn something new about me!

The Eyeshadow Junkie Tag ❥ 2016 Edition

Eyeshadow Junkie Tag 2016

I had this TAG in mind for the longest time and since my love for eyeshadow is legendary, there you have it …

Tag Questions :

1. Favorite Drugstore Line for Eyeshadows?

Eyeshadow Junkie Tag 2016

This is a tricky question since I find drugstore’s eyeshadows to be so-so when it come to quality. However, I think that NYX, recently available in some Quebec drugstores, makes some good ones.

2. Favorite Eyeshadow Primer?

Eyeshadow Junkie Tag 2016

I have two equally-loved favorites: MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots and bareMinerals 5 in 1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow SPF 15. I seriously cannot live without them; they make any eyeshadow stay put all day long and most importantly, they don’t crease. I could talk all day about these two wonderful products!!!

3. First Ever Eyeshadow Purchase?

If I remember correctly, it was a L’Oréal eyeshadow included in a pink trio set and they were all horrible; they didn’t blend, there was no pigmentation, nothing to make me fall in love with makeup then!!! I really got addicted to eyeshadows when I bought my first high-end palette …

4. Best Drugstore Eyeshadow Dupe?

I don’t own enough drugstore eyeshadows to find dupes! Sorry, but to this date, high-end shadow formulas have been performing way better than drugstore ones.

5. Most Underrated?

Eyeshadow Junkie Tag 2016

Easily, my Blinc Neutral Shadow Fusion palette. I feel I’m the only one who owns this gorgeous palette. One of the best neutral palette in the market with an exceptionnal quality. On top of it, it’s vegan & cruelty-free! I still ask myself how come this brand is so unknown …

6. Favorite Single Eyeshadow?

Eyeshadow Junkie Tag 2016

I’ve been totally rocking the NARS Single Eyeshadow in Himalia. I enjoy putting this on my mobile lid. I use it dry since I don’t want to look like a Christmas ornament in the middle of May.

Note: I’ve disliked every Nars eyeshadow palettes that I ever bought, but I really enjoy their single shadows!!!

7. Favorite Cream Eyeshadow?

Eyeshadow Junkie Tag 2016

Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks are a delight: the creamy and long wearing formula make them my ultimate favorite.

8. Favorite Neutral Eyeshadow?

Eyeshadow Junkie Tag 2016

My Kat Von D Shade+ Light Eye Contour is my go-to palette for neutral shadows. Every single shade you ever wanted is included in this little number. Did you ever hear someone say negative comment about this palette? I never read or heard anything bad, so that says it all…

9. Favorite Colored Eyeshadow?

Eyeshadow Junkie Tag 2016

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows 2. I never thought I would enjoy this super bright color palette but I really do. Impeccable is the word I would use! This hidden gem is still available at Sephora US for $34!!!! Go grab one 😉

10. Best Eyeshadow Palette Ever!!!?

Eyeshadow Junkie Tag 2016

This is my hardest question to answer but I will go with Laura Mercier Nude Smoky Eye palette. 5 colors that make for an effortless eye look. Sadly, I never did a review on this one since it was a Limited Edition and sold out so fast that I would just be a tease to write about it!

Thanks for stopping by my beautiful friends xxx
