Wednesday Beauty Obsession ✰ Sephora Collection Pro Contour Kabuki #82

Wednesday Beauty Obsession

I’ve been obsessed with the Sephora Collection Pro Contour Kabuki #82 brush for the longest time (longest = two weeks to be exact). As I’m always looking for the best deals,  I purchased it, on sale, on Sephora’s website for less than half price ($21CND)! I know the sale section is always tricky; most of the time it’s full of shitty lesser quality products that don’t sell well, it’s use to sell off some Limited Edition products (these are the sale I ADORE – think of The Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani eyeshadow and blush palette) or like in the case of this Kabuki #82 brush, it suggests some discontinued items.

This brush piqued my curiosity mainly because of its unique shape and in-store, the bristles felt so good and soft; but expending $48CND for a strange contour brush was a total non sense budget wise! This was then and now, I’m a proud owner and I’m in love!!!

Cruelty-free obsessed…

What it is:
An all-in-one sculpting and shaping brush that can be used under the eye, hollows of the cheeks, and around the jaw area.

What it does:
Define your best features and achieve an allover makeup look with this Pro Contour brush. Featuring an innovative design for multi-direction blending on the entire face, it allows you to seamlessly shade, contour, highlight, and blend product. Its curved-tip bristles fit into facial grooves and corners of the face for a flawless finish, making application simple with just a few strokes.

🐰What else you need to know:
This product is not tested on animals.

Softness obsessed…

This brush breezes so softly on my skin, I can’t express enough how luxurious it feels.

Fabrication obsessed…

It’s well-built no doubt about it, and on the plus side, NO shedding to report! For this review purpose, I really tried to pull off a couple of bristles, with no success (You see how thorough of a blogger  I really am – Wink-Wink)!!

Sephora Collection Pro Contour Kabuki #82

Cream bronzer/contour obsessed…

You’ve been living under a rock or never read my blog if you didn’t notice how Ga-Ga I am about cream contouring/bronzing products! This brush may be good for other purposes but for me, it’s the ideal tool to perfectly apply creamy goodnesses. And after trying it this morning, it also works really good with highlighters and blushes. Come to think of it, maybe it’s multi-purpose after all!!!

Sephora Collection Pro Contour Kabuki #82

Tiny obsessed…

From the website picture, it looks like a big, bulky brush but it’s super tiny. Being on the smaller side is absolutely not a problem as the handle makes it really easy to work with. Not that it should matter but this brush is a cuty pie! ADORABLE

BUT… (there is always a but)

All of that being said, I must point out that if you go and purchase this brush to create an “Instagram” contour with really defined cheekbones, you’ll probably hate it. You’ll probably find it too big and not precise enough (it’s a dense-type brush but it fans out when pressing it). But, if like 99% of us regular girls (and boys) that never went for the Kardhasian look because daah!, we live in the real world, I think you will find this brush is a super deal and worth every penny. It would definitely have a place of choice in your brush collection…

Note: This brush doesn’t appear to be on the US Sephora website anymore, so this one is just for my Canadian Beauty Addicts! Maybe US girls should visit the Canadian site? With the exchange rate, it’s even more of a deal…

I almost want to buy a second one !!!🙊

How Much Does My Face Cost Today $$$

How much does my face cost today?

I thought it would be revealing to put a price tag on “my makeup of the day”, but thinking about it, do I really want to know?!? Of course, I’m not adding the price of all skincare products & brushes I used … so it’s only makeup products girls!!!

Today it’s July 19

Face…

Primer: I’m using my 100 point sample of the Hourglass Ambient Light Correcting Primer in Mood Light – Cost: 0$ (BTW, I really like it a lot!)

How much does my face cost today?

Foundation: Today, I’m wearing bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream (color Buttercream 03) – it’s my go-to foundation for summer and it’s priced at 37$

Concealer: I’m using both Becca’s Under Eye Brightening Corrector (36$) + bareMinerals’ Bareskin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer (25$). Those two are a perfect match for me …

How much does my face cost today?

Under Eye Powder (wet baking): After my average initial review, I have to say that I changed my mind and totally love Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder (30$)… Like they say: “Only fools never changed their minds”!!

How much does my face cost today?

Cream Bronzer: Kevyn Aucoin’s The Contour Book The Art of Sculpting + Defining Volume II (78$). I may be overreaching but at present time, this is by far my best purchase of 2016 & my product of the year.

Setting Powder: To powder my T-Zone a tiny bit, I’m using Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder (47$). I find that less is way more youthful on my old self…

How much does my face cost today?

Cheeks: Today, I’m sporting Nars Blush in Impassioned (38$). This is the perfect pinky/nude EVER!

How much does my face cost today?

Highlighter: I’m going with an oldie but a goodie, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette (70$)!

Faceoftheday3

Makeup Setting Spray: As today is very hot and humid, I chose to apply Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray (38$). I need this step if I don’t want my makeup to melt like Olaf in Summer …

Eyebrows …

For my eyebrows, to get a splendid result, I went with my preferred arsenal:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz (27$),

faceoftheday8

Benefit Cosmetics Ka-Brow! Cream-Gel Eyebrow Color with Brush Deluxe Sample, that I received as a gift with purchase (0$). This product is soooo good and the color  #1 is pure p-e-r-f-e-c-t-i-o-n,

And the Holy Grail Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel (29$)!

How much does my face cost today?

Eyes …

As you all know, I have a few different products to choose from for my eye makeup. Today, I went with some safe bets:

Primer: Mac Prolongwear Paint Pot in Painterly (26$),
faceoftheday11

Shadows: Too Faced Chocolate BonBon palette (59$),

faceoftheday17

and for my Mascara: I went with Too Faced Better Than Sex Deluxe sample, also received as a gift with purchase (0$).

Finally, Lips…

I stayed in my comfort zone and applied Mac’s Lipglass in Cherry Blossom (19$)

How much does my face cost today?

Sweet Jesus, it costed a ridiculous 559$ to achieve today’s makeup… I know I pay a lot for makeup products, but I am still floored! To make matters worse, this is my Summer, «no-makeup» makeup!!! Umh, I’m wondering (and afraid of) what would be the price for a full-face winter, hardcore makeup!

Well folks, with that simple calculation, there is nothing else to add. I just hope that I use the hell up of every product I bought (or at least try to)…

I’m curious about what your face cost today ???

♥ Most Exciting Sneak Peek of the Week ♥

This week, I unfortunately saw some sneak peeks of special and unique 2016 Holiday Makeup and as usual, I almost lost it! I don’t know about you but, I’m almost certain that this NEW Hourglass Cosmetics Lighting Edit Surreal Light Limited Edition Holiday Palette will be expensive and probably on the smaller side but I won’t be able to resist this SUBLIME palette, and again, I will bust my budget…

Note: The new shades will be Surreal Light / Surreal Glow / Surreal Effect / Surreal Bronze / Surreal Strobe Light … Come to mama 🙂

♥ My Favorite YouTube Video of the Week ♥

I want to be Claire Marshall (HeyClaire) when I grow up! Seriously (well I was serious before but let’s move on), I like her style, calming voice and her videos are so nicely produced…

♥ Future Splurge of the Week ♥

Viktor & Rolf BonBon Hair Mist

How will I be able to justify a 50$ hair mist?!!! Since I already own the perfume and love it so much, it’s a perfect fragrance during winter months! How sensuous would it be to have my hair smell like my daily perfume … When is the VIB sale again? October can’t arrive fast enough…

Notes : Tangerine Essence, Blackcurrant Accord, Orange Essence, Orange Blossom Absolute, Jasmine Absolute, Peach Accord, Guaiac Wood Essence, Cedarwood Essence, Caramel Accord.
