Makeup Declutter Series 2017| Blushes, Bronzers & Eye Shadows

Makeup Declutter Series 2017 (Curly Spring Blossom)

When I first started purging my makeup collection, I felt like a child who had to give away her Barbies, all of her dolls and stuffed animals and probably all the money in her piggy bank! Makeup items are MY toys and it is very hard to give up! After a few decluttering events, I have to say that now, it’s almost fun to do. Decluttering can become very addictive when you start doing it. Keep watching and in March or April, I will show my entire collection and you will see that, even though it seems that I’ve thrown away half of my stash, I’m still far from becoming a minimalist – I still have a rather big collection! Hopefully, 2017 will be the frugal year or the year that I was able to shrink that ridiculous amount of products! I’m a woman on a mission… Pan, pan …and PAN !

Note: Beardman was making the observation that my pictures for that series were not on par with my usual images. I told him that throwing products in the garbage is not a source of inspiration to produce photographic masterpieces. It’s more a case of getting things done as fast as I can and not dwell to much on the aftershocks.

Bye Bye to 13 Blushes

Makeup Declutter Serie 2017| Blushes, Bronzers & Eye Shadows (Curly Spring Blossom)

I’ve known for a long time (and wrote about it repeatedly) that I’m a palette girl and unfortunately, it also affects my love for blushes. As a result, I’m getting rid of all my single cheeks’ products, with a couple of exceptions. With all the Nars, Hourglass & Viseart blush palettes on the market, it’s a more practical and economic choice to go for these rather than those single formats! So, Adios!

Bye Bye to 5 Bronzers

Too dark or too shimmery, these five products will not be missed a bit either. I could get rid of so many more bronzers but, anxiety kicked in and, I guess I panicked with this category. At the end of the year, I’ll try to get rid of at least 5 others…

Bye Bye to 30 Single Eye Shadows

(+ one quad and the KVD Saint eyeshadow palette)

Makeup Declutter Series 2017| Eyeshadow Palettes

Same thing as for blushes, I’m a palette girl. Single shadows take too much space and with my busy mornings, I don’t have time to go through all these singles to find that special tint. I kept my 20 favorites and that’s it! Half of them were new, as “never even swatched” new, crazy right?

My 5 Most Coveted Eyeshadow Palette ✮ 2016

My 5 most coveted eyeshadow palettes

When you suffer from makeup addiction, we are either an eyeshadow palette lover or we prefer their single counterparts. Personally, I like them both but I surely appreciate the value of palettes with their cute packaging and their versatility in comparison to buying all unique shades.

I have to seriously restrain myself because I would buy them all, but here is a list of the five that I covet the most and eventually will end up buying!!!

Viseart Neutral Mattes (01)

Viseart Neutral Matte

Viseart Cool Mattes (07)

Viseart Cool Matte

Indisputably, Viseart has concocted one of the best eyeshadow formula on today’s market. I wish I would have started my shadow collections with these palettes instead of buying average ones. At $100Cdn a pop, they are on the expensive side but the amount of product you get versus the quality is a great value for money when you think about it. I 100% vouch for their MATTE colors but since I haven’t tried their shimmery ones, I can not put Ingrid’s seal of approval. As we all fear the unknown, I would prefer Neutral Mattes and Cool Mattes palettes the most. Viseart is also a cruelty-free brand.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette

These colors cry my name so very much, it keeps waking me up at night (No, wait… it’s BeardMan snoring like a Mack truck again, sorry)! Seriously, I’ve yet to find someone who didn’t love the formula of this ABH Modern Renaissance palette! I’ve heard girls talking about the shades that were not flattering for their particular skin tone, but NO ONE said that these were bad eyeshadows in any way. I only own the Tamana palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills and I enjoy it a lot actually! ABH is also a cruelty-free brand.

Laura Mercier Eye Art Artist’s Palette

Laura Mercier Artist Palette

In my estimation, Laura Mercier’s shadows are among the very best. But, universally speaking, critics/reviews are somewhat divided: they either love them or hate them, strangely there isn’t a middle ground. As my all-time favorite palette is from her line, I know for sure that I would totally be enchanted by this palette. I own 3 Laura Mercier eyeshadow palettes and they are all are exceptional. My only hitch is that this Eye Art Artist’s palette contains 5 colors I already have in my collection!!!

M.A.C Eye Shadow x 15: Warm Neutral

M.A.C x Warm Neutral Palette

Not surprisingly I’m sure, I already own the Cool Neutral and I love that these premade palettes retail for just $85Cdn! At $5.66 per shadow, there is no way you can beat this price, and frankly, I really love the colors on this one! My addiction to neutral shades is pretty well documented, and I feel that this palette would add a little je ne sais quoi to my collection (Actually I know what it will do: satisfy my urge to buy!!). Around Christmas, M.A.C tends to have a 20% rebate so it could be the best time for this bad boy to enter Ingrid’s evergrowing palette stash!

What are some of yours?

UD X Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette ❥ Hot Deal!

UD X Gwen Stefani eyeshadow palette 2016

I know I have a few flaws (just ask BeardMan), but there are some weaknesses that are well-known by my avid readers: Hot Deals and Palettes!! So, what do you think happened when Sephora posted an UD palette for 35$CND? At 70$CND, it was a total nonsense to get it because I probably own most of these colors or their close relatives, but with such an irresistible deal, it was:”Come to mama you lucky palette, come play with your friends!!! At this price, it’s almost what we now pay for a totally average drugstore’s palette. To tell you the truth, I was very intrigued with this collaboration between Urban Decay and miss Stefani, and  seriously, what’s not to love about this Limited Edition palette containing all the colors I love…

After owning this everyday, humble eyeshadow palette for about a week and totally enjoying it, here is why you should run to get this one….

UD X Gwen Stefani eyeshadow palette 2016

♥ 15 UD shadows for 25$US (35$CND) is a heist. On average now, each palette are 60$ or more! It’s start to be ridiculously pricey.

♥ Daytime to nighttime appropriate.

♥ Boring neutrals? No f***g way! I understand it’s not as sexy as those normal, regular UD palettes with all those crazy colors but should I remind you that these palettes (I’m talking to you Vice 4) are mostly gathering dust on my innumerable shelves.

♥ Not overly pigmented, these shadows make me achieve the most beautiful natural eye looks!

♥ The packaging is absolutely stunning. So chic, it’s a piece of artwork…

♥ The 3 most stunning colors that are Harajuku, Danger and 1987 are surprisingly easy to wear on my bottom lash line.

♥ Great for travelling: with this palette, you have every shade you might want for all possible situations, from the “no makeup makeup” to a sexy, smokey eye look!

♥ No creasing, very little fallouts and super blendable.

Made in the USA and cruelty-free.

A few added notes …

♥  Only 1 dud to report: Pop is crap! The formula is gritty and I need to wet it with MAC “Fix +” and use my Too Faced Glitter Glue if I don’t want it all over my cheeks!!! It’s sad because the shade is nice.

Ud X Gwen eyeshadow 2

♥ These shadows perform way better with an eye primer.

Bottom Line…

I don’t really care for Gwen Stefani and normally, I always tend to shy away from these makeup collabs which are most of the time on the cheaper side (formula-wise and made in China wise) but this one is very solid! I don’t see how anyone could regret this beauty if you generally gravitate towards these types of colors.

Thanks for stopping by my beautiful friends xxx
