I not only have the biggest sweet tooth, I also only crave “Sugary, Candy Like” perfumes. I thought it would be nice to gather all the delicious fragrances that I’ve fell in love with over the years. If, like myself, floral, woody, spicy or oriental perfumes make you smell like a granny (and not in a good way), than these suggestions could help you find a yummy new scent. BTW I’m assuming that a girl (me) in her forties likes to smell like cake batter! 😉
1.
Pink Sugar
This is the most affordable perfume from this list. Pink Sugar is a warm, delicious & happy fragrance. I would describe it like when cotton candy & vanilla sugar meet maple syrup! Without a doubt a sugar overload that is not just for teenagers!
Notes:
Bergamot, Sicilian Orange, Raspberry, Fig Leaves, Lily of the Valley, Licorice, Strawberry, Red Fruit, Cotton Candy, Vanilla, Caramel, Musk, Wood, Powder.
2.
Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Extreme
Layer after layer of vanilla scents, what’s not to love! I like that I smell like I have doused myself in vanilla extracts! I love it. Truly intoxicating!
Notes:
Vanilla Sugar, Heliotrope, Vanilla Absolute, Milk.
3.
Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Apricot
Creamy, sweet and fruity; it’s complete perfection if you wanna smell like a summer treat. Sweet but with a grown up feel to it. Very sophisticated.
Notes:
Jackfruit, Apricot, Papaya, Vanilla, Sugar Candy.
4.
Yves St-Laurent Black Opium
Full of notes that evoke the sweetness of vanilla, coffee, with some light floral undertones. The smell of this perfume is very different from the original Opium. This is a winning scent for me! This is like a mature version of Prada Candy.
Notes:
Coffee Accord, Orange Blossom, Cedarwood Essence, Patchouli Essense.
5.
Lavanila Vanilla Grapefruit 🐰
I absolutely love Lavanila Vanilla Grapefruit perfume! Don’t let the grapefruit in the name trick you – it doesn’t smell fruity at all! It’s a very warm scent with only a hint of citrus.
Notes:
Pink Grapefruit, Lime, Bergamot, Orange, Cedarwood, Madagascar Vanilla.
6.
Dior Hypnotique Poison
I’ve been wearing this perfume for the last 10 years. Definitely not a summery or daytime scent, but you’ll be tempted to wear it all year round. I get a ton of compliments when I wear this warm, vanilla sexy scent that not only warms up as the day goes on but, mixed with the amber and jasmine, it’s just amazing! I am head over heels in love with this dangerously named perfume. I cannot recommend it highly enough. My only word of advice is to spritz yourself sparingly because a little of this certainly goes a long, long way especially in summer when your skin heats up.
Notes:
Bitter Almond, Caraway Spice, Sambac Jasmine, Cinnamon, Tuberose, Vanilla, Musk, Mosses, Jucarunda Wood.
7.
Viktor & Rolf BonBon
I love this perfume so much. The smell is delicious; when I wear it, it feels like I’ve been soaked in candy. It reminds me of the sweetness that Flowerbomb has… minus the flowery notes. Definitely a cute, feminine, sweet tooth kind of smell. It starts off a little more floral but becomes all sugary after some evaporation. Definitely smells edible. The caramel scent is the longest lasting part of the perfume with a hint of vanilla sweetness.
Notes:
Caramel, Mandarin, Orange Blossom
8.
Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Gold Couture
I prefer Gold Couture over the classic Viva La Juicy perfume. It has more vanilla than the classic one, which is what I enjoy the most about this aroma. The main notes for me are definitely vanilla, amber, and caramel, although there are some notes of berries that come through and don’t make it too overpoweringly sweet. Think warm caramel and honey drizzled over berries and vanilla custard… and you have Gold Couture!!
Notes:
Berries, Honeysuckle, Golden Amber, Caramel, Vanilla.
9.
Mugler Aura
At first, it’s minty and fresh (Yes like Listerine) but also has a mysterious base note. After a couple of hours, Aura elegantly and seamlessly morphs into a custard bourbon vanilla scent that reminds me of Fresh Pastries. Aura is an exceptionally well engineered perfume that carries you away on a nose-filling journey.
Notes:
Rhubarb leaves, Vanilla bourbon, Orange blossom, Wolf wood.
10.
Maison Margiela “REPLICA” By The Fireplace
This perfume is my newest obsession. It does have a smoky base to it but it also has a lovely bourbon vanilla side with a touch of cinnamon. Someone told me that it smells like roasting marshmallows on a fire. This fragrance stirs up memories of times shared by the fire in the great outdoors as well as by the fireplace. It does tend to be more of an Autumn/Winter fragrance and it’s especially delicious mixed with Black Opium!
Notes:
Clove Oil, Chestnut Accord, Vanilla Accord
Honorable Mention…
Mugler Angel
Key Notes:
Caramel, Chocolate, Honey, Vanilla
Elizabeth & James Nirvana Bourbon 🐰
Key Notes:
Tuberose, Oakwood, Bourbon Vanilla
Prada Candy
Key Notes:
White Musks, Benzoin, Caramel Accord
Giorgio Armani Beauty Si
Notes:
Pear, Freesia, Amber Wood.
Maison Margiela “REPLICA” Funfair Evening
Key Notes:
Toffee Apple, Orange Blossom Infusion, Caramel Candy
Looking at this list of favorites, you can quickly see that the key word for me is VANILLA. I hope that it gave you, my “SWEET” friends, some great suggestions or possibly made you smile because we have the same taste. Any other perfumes I should try?
Note: I try my best to buy only cruelty-free products when it comes to my makeup, skincare & bath products. That being said perfume that are cruelty-free and smells good on me are extremely hard to find so this list contains only a few CF options! Transitioning is key here…
